95 Points: “Absolutely delicious, this elegant, fragrant wine offers enticing aromas of violet, red berry, citrus and baking spice. The bone-dry, foaming palate delivers
strawberry, raspberry and red cherry, accented with cinnamon and ginger notes. Crisp acidity gives it a pristine, quenching finish that leaves you wanting more.” – Kerin O’Keefe, Wine Enthusiast (December 2020)
Paltrinieri “An historic estate that dates back to 1926, Paltrinieri is in my opinion the best producer of Lambrusco di Sorbara today. The family-run property produces a mindboggling range of wines made from this grape, the one that gives the most refined of all
Lambrusco-something wines. Paltrinieri farms 15 hectares (and two more they are about to plant.) The labels are especially beautiful, replicating art work by a local artist and family friend, Fabrizio Loschi. The Paltrinieri estate is worth a visit for the welcoming atmosphere, the pretty countryside and the great wines: depending on the time of year you visit, you will be delighted by the sight of a few nesting swallows in the winery building who the Paltrineiri’s tell me have made it their home for years now (the presence of swallows tells you that the habitat is clean since they tend to disappear from polluted areas).” – Ian D’Agata
What Is Pét-Nat Wine? ... Pétillant-naturel (natural sparkling) is a catch-all term for practically any sparkling wine made in the méthode ancestrale, meaning the wine is bottled before primary fermentation is finished, without the addition of secondary yeasts or sugars.
